A Malaysian woman mysteriously disappeared on April 9 while traveling to meet investigators at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, sparking a nationwide investigation into her sudden vanishing.

Pamela Ling Yueh, who was scheduled to assist authorities with a money laundering probe, sent her lawyer a final text message at 1:57pm stating she would arrive by 2:08pm. Moments later, all contact with the woman ceased abruptly.

The case only gained national attention in early May when distraught family members went public with claims that Ling had been forcibly taken against her will. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed to media outlets that investigators were pursuing leads suggesting possible abduction by either genuine or impersonating police officers.

"We are exploring all possibilities in this disappearance," Razarudin told reporters on May 5, noting the unusual absence of any ransom demands despite the suspicious circumstances.

New details emerged from the e-hailing driver who transported Ling that fateful afternoon. Identified only as Kok, the driver gave chilling testimony about being intercepted near MACC headquarters by three vehicles around 2pm. He described being surrounded by individuals wearing police attire who forcibly removed his passenger.

"They made me end the ride prematurely and confiscated my identification documents," Kok recounted in published interviews. "One woman and two men claiming to be officers took Ms. Ling despite her apparent resistance."

Police revealed on May 6 they were scrutinizing several persons of interest including Ling's businessman husband. Investigators are also working to verify whether those involved were legitimate officers or criminals using police disguises.
