CPF Launches New All-in-One Planning Tool to Help Singaporeans Manage Housing, Retirement, and Healthcare Needs

Planning your future just got easier with a brand-new platform from the Central Provident Fund (CPF). Launched on 5 July during CPF’s 70th anniversary celebration, the initiative — called PLAN (Plan Life Ahead, Now!) — aims to empower CPF members to make smarter, more confident financial decisions across key areas like home ownership, retirement, and healthcare.

This digital tool offers a centralised platform where users can visualise how their CPF savings can support various life needs, and how making a decision in one area (like buying a home) may affect another (like retirement payouts).

Through a dynamic, user-friendly dashboard personalised to each individual’s life stage, members can:

  • Estimate how much retirement income they may receive and how to boost it
  • See how different property choices and loan options may affect future CPF balances
  • Compare health insurance plans and premiums, including Integrated Shield Plans

A Smart Move Towards Financial Well-being

Speaking at the event, CPF Board CEO Ms Melissa Khoo highlighted that PLAN reflects CPF’s mission to help Singaporeans take greater control over their long-term financial health.

She reaffirmed CPF’s evolving role in Singapore’s social security system, especially as people live longer and retirement needs become more varied.

“With rising life expectancy and changing aspirations, CPF must continue innovating to meet the growing needs of our members. PLAN is a step forward in helping every Singaporean better prepare for their future,” said Ms Khoo.

Three-in-One Planning Power

PLAN combines three major functions in one:

  1. Retirement Planner: Helps users define their retirement goals, understand potential payout scenarios, and explore top-up strategies to increase savings.
  2. Home Purchase Planner: Offers insights on housing affordability based on CPF savings, and shows how mortgage choices may impact retirement income.
  3. Health Insurance Planner: Lets users compare features and premiums across Integrated Shield Plans, making it easier to choose coverage that suits their needs.

In addition to these tools, PLAN includes useful educational content and a financial fitness quiz developed with MoneySense — Singapore’s national financial education initiative. The quiz asks practical questions like “Do you have enough emergency savings?” and gives tailored advice based on your answers.

Celebrating 70 Years of CPF

To mark this milestone year, CPF has also published a commemorative book titled Save & Sound: 70 Years of CPF. The digital book traces CPF’s evolution through the decades and features insights from former ministers, CPF leaders, and everyday Singaporeans who share how CPF has shaped their financial journeys. You can read it at cpf.gov.sg/member/infohub/cpf70.

For those who prefer to explore in person, CPF is holding an exhibition at Our Tampines Hub until 10 July. Visitors can try out the PLAN platform onsite and attend informative talks on housing, retirement, and healthcare planning.

With PLAN, CPF members now have a powerful new tool to help them prepare for the future — because when it comes to life’s big decisions, it pays to plan ahead.
