Tom Felton, the beloved actor who brought Draco Malfoy to life in the Harry Potter films, is stepping back into his iconic role—this time on Broadway. The 37-year-old star will make his theatrical debut in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, marking a full-circle moment for both him and fans of the magical franchise.
The announcement has sent waves of excitement through the wizarding world, as Felton becomes the first original film cast member to join the acclaimed stage production. Set to perform at New York’s Lyric Theater from November 11, 2026, through March 22, 2026, Felton will portray an older version of Draco—now a father navigating new challenges.
"Being part of Harry Potter has been one of my life’s greatest honors," Felton shared in an emotional statement. "Returning as Draco at this stage feels surreal—especially since I'll be playing him at his exact age in the story. It’s like rediscovering an old friend while stepping into uncharted territory."
The actor revealed that slipping back into character was an unexpectedly moving experience. When he first tried on Draco’s signature platinum wig for rehearsals, he was overcome with emotion. "I immediately cried," he confessed to Today.com. "It was like being transported back two decades in an instant."
Cursed Child, set nineteen years after J.K. Rowling’s final novel, presents fresh challenges for Felton as he explores Draco’s adult persona—a far cry from Hogwarts-era mischief-making."The play tells a completely new story," explained Felton."We're no longer kids; we're parents now.
